Trust

Trust His plan is much bigger than yours

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your understanding;” Proverbs 3:5

When praying for something to change in your life, sometimes, it is difficult to wait patiently and trust that God is doing the work behind the scenes.

I am sure you have all been through it at one time or another-

the wanting,

the waiting,

the worry,

the fear,

the unknown,

the searching,

the wishing,

the hope,

– all of it is preparing you for something much bigger. But, you need to be patient and trust that God has a plan for your life.

Sometimes, that is so hard to do. Sometimes obstacles get in the way that causes you to look away or become discouraged but you must continue to trust that He knows what is planned for you.

Take time to grow

When I received my Master’s degree about five years ago, I wanted to pursue a leadership position in education. I thought it would be easier than it was. But I went from interview to interview, and doors kept closing—rejection after rejection after rejection.

It lowered my confidence and self-esteem.

I started to feel like something was wrong with me, and I was not worthy of moving forward in a new position. I questioned my capabilities and who I was as an educator.

I did begin to question God and why He was not answering my prayers.

But instead of turning away, I began to pray more.

And what I kept hearing God say was “ You need to grow more.”

Trust that there is a plan

In those times of uncertainty and defeat, when I would sit in prayer, I began to trust. Trust that God had a plan for my life and those closed doors were a way to guide me in the right direction. They were a message of “not yet” rather than a message of “you are not worthy”.

So with that, I began to trust more. I realized that God has a plan, and I need to trust and believe that He is working behind the scenes. He is creating something more significant than I could ever imagine.

 Enjoy the Journey

During this period of waiting, I have been growing. I have stepped out of my comfort zone and faced my fears. Things that I would never have done five years earlier. When I look back at my life five years ago…three years ago, or even one year ago, I see so much growth in myself and what I have learned. I see so many people who have walked into my life and taught me something so valuable in my journey.

Embrace how far you have come

Take time to pause, reflect and embrace the small steps you have taken along the way. God rejoices in your steps and your acknowledgment of what He has done for you.

During this time of waiting, grow and embrace the journey you are on. God is building your character and preparing you for His plan. Appreciate the process, the learning, and the person whom you are becoming.

It is all part of God’s plan.

I can look back at how far I have come and see God’s plan. The puzzle pieces are coming together.

But it is not over; I know He has much more work to do. I am a work in progress.

I see now why many doors may have closed and that God’s plan is leading me in a different direction than I would have ever thought. But I continue to trust that His plan is worth so much more than my plan.

Trust that He is listening

My friend, in your times of discouragement when you feel that nothing will change and nobody is there to support you. Remember, God is listening. He is creating great work with your name on it. He is preparing a plan for your life that is greater than you could have ever imagined BUT You need to continue to TRUST.

“ I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”Psalms 91:2
